Grins – a village for relaxation
Grins was first mentioned in the 13th century, but findings prove that the area was already settled in 2,000 B.C.
The Rhaeto-Romanic village character dates back to the rule of the Romans and gives the village a romantic touch.
Despite many renewals and renovations of old farm houses, the traditional character of this authentic Tirolean mountain village with its splendid Rococo church has been preserved.
An approved sulphur spring also bubbles up in Grins. At the village fountain in front of the Grinn local authority everyone can test the healing properties of the water for themselves. The Wildbad sulphur spring for foot and sitz baths and a Kneipp installation that is fed by a separate spring, also boost health.
The unique flora invites to relaxed hikes and walks, e.g. through the splendid orchards of the Stanz Plum Culinary Region . Like in the neighbouring village of Stanz, numerous schnapps distilleries make high-proof fruit spirits.
The 3,000m-high mountains of the Parseier mountain range and the huts of the Lechtal Alps attract mountaineers in search for a challenge. Pilgrims of St. James Route also like to stop in Grins.
