European Long-Distance Hiking Trail E5

The E5 hiking trail has an entire length of 600km and stretches from Lake Constance to the Adriatic Sea. The most famous section is a high-alpine stretch leading through the impressive Tirolean mountains from Oberstdorf to Meran.

After a long descent from Memminger Hütte through one of the most beautiful high alpine valleys of Europe, the Zammer Loch, the village of Zams in the TirolWest holiday region is a popular stage destination.

The contrast between the bizarre chalk massifs of the Lechtal Alps and the primary rocks of the Ötztal Alps is fantastic. Nowhere else you pass climbing sections that ask for more than a good head for heights and surefootedness. Still hikers get a fantastic insight into Tirolean high alpine regions.
