The landmark of the town of Landeck – Schloss Landeck castle
Schloss Landeck castle is located at the Via Claudia Augusta and probably was built by the Count of Ulten in the first half of the 13th century. It was later extended by Count Meinhard II of Tirol-Görz. In 1282 it was the seat of the Landeck court and had a caretaker. The castle had its heyday under the knights of Schrofenstein.
Today the castle is the landmark of the town of Landeck , district museum, and events and culture centre.
