Numerous findings prove that Zams was settled early. The detached church tower of the parish church, the century-old farm houses and Kronburg castle at a prominent rock mark the village.
The traditional village is surrounded by a unique mountain landscape. Optical landmark is the Venet, a mountain massif that is densely covered with trees. Venet is a hiking and family ski area and offers plenty of space for sports and recreation. Hiking, biking, hang gliding, paragliding – sports lovers love it!
In summer time numerous mountaineers are in the village. Zams is stage destination of the famous E5 Long-Distance Hiking Trail. The St. James Route also passes the village – the Kronburg pilgrimage place is located directly at the pilgrimage trail.
Zammer Lochputz – Tirol’s mystic gorge is a popular outing destination for the young and old.
